There's nothing quite like the smack of a brand new volleyball against your newly reddened forearm. There's nothing quite like the pulsation of adrenaline through your veins moments before you spike for a kill. There's nothing like the awe of the audience, their quietpresence ghost-like in the stands, as the setter places the ball, perfectly unexpected, over the net. There's nothing quite like the echo of an ace cheer through your ears. Nothing comes close to volleyball. No sport can touch it or the hours spent conditioning for the game saving play.

After four games in the BetUS Sportsbook, the Spurs enter this close-out matchup with one thing in mind ending this series tonight.
"We know that winning a Game 6 there is going to be really tough. If we don't, then Game 7 we know is a lottery," Spurs guard Manu Ginobili said. "We don't even have to think that there's a Game 6 or Game 7. We have to take (Game 5) as a Game 7. We know we have a great opportunity at home."
The Suns managed to stop the Spurs from completing a quick four-game sweep, winning Game 4 105-86 at home on Sunday and say they are focused, simply on winning Game 5.
"We're down 3-1, we know we've got a long road to go, but we don't think about the series, we think about Tuesday," Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said. "We can win Tuesday. That's the only thing we're thinking about. That's definitely a possibility and that's what we want to make a reality."
The Spurs had won five consecutive games dating back to the regular season until losing to the Suns on Sunday but are just 3-3 against the spread over the same span.
The Suns are an identical 3-3 both, straight up and against the spread in their last six games dating back to the regular season.
Here is a look at tonights key trends followed by my NBA Betting Picks.
The Suns are 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 vs. Western Conference.
The Suns are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games vs. a team with a home winning percentage of greater than .600.
The Spurs are 7-0 ATS in their last seven playoff games as a favorite of 5.0-10.5.
The Spurs are 14-3-1 ATS in their last 18 playoff games as a favorite.
The Over is 5-1 in Suns last six games as an underdog.
The Over is 5-1 in Suns last six Conference Quarterfinals games.

Finally, about how it feels. First off, it does indeed feel blind. Somethings missing when I look at the table. If I were only watching the table and not playing it would be fine, but since I have to act, there are brief flashes of panic trying to decide on a course of action without all the information that I normally have.
The best description is that I feel like someone who has forgotten how to swim, thrown into water, floating, but not knowing how to get anywhere. I used to know how to get around, but now Im not sure how to do it. I could just keep floating (folding), but eventually Im going to have to take some action.
The idea with this is to sharpen the other indicators, the other senses. I 3-tabled ring last night and there was one situation where I stabbed at a pot in the BB because it was a type of pot that had a high card and no draws, and another hand that I didnt stab at pot because of the draws that might keep people in. Another time I had TT in the SB, called a late position raise from a TAG and the BB called as well. Flop came T62 rainbow, so theres no point betting out because of the dry flop so I checked. These are little spots where I think playing blind has helped me see things easier and more quickly.

I know my readers have gathered by now, I am all about sports. We are just a bunch of jocks in this household. Too bad about the Blue Jays losing the Grey Cup eh?
Now when I signed The Boy up for soccer, I didn't do it out of any love for the sport. Then when they asked for volunteers, I ticked off yes because I am on the board of this community group who is organizing it. So how can I not. I thought to myself, I can go "Rah rah rah... kick that ball" or whatever it is you are supposed to say at soccer games. But, well, did I mention I'm on the board and people know who I am and know that I'm unlikely to say "no" in a pinch.
"Hey Jo, so what do you need me to do?"
"Well, The Boy is on our team. We need an assistant coach, so I put you down."
"Ummm... Jo. Are you aware that I have no coaching skills and... umm... don't really know anything about soccer. It's just one ball in soccer right?"
"Oh Nat, you are so funny."
And she walked away.
So just call me coach. Now I must admit that G. (Jo's lovely man) is a great coach and he basically coached me too. G. is also in tremendous shape. (Thank god for running.) Me, well, I am good at "You, there in the blue. Yes I know blue is our team colour... please don't climb the goal post. They aren't stable and we are in the middle of a game" "No no no, please don't eat the grass." "Really that little scratch is not going to kill you." And standing on the sidelines yelling "Go Go" (I leave a blank because I usually can't come up with the team name or the child's names.) But for $70 for 7 weeks. It's great fun and the kids seem to enjoy the social aspect of it. Even if the Assistant coach is clueless. (My child is the one talking Pokemon with the other team.)
But I did this for The Boy, who is not exactly a jock. I'm hoping he'll learn to like team sports a bit. And if he hates it, he doesn't have to play next year and then my coaching career will be short lived. (And that's ok.) If he likes it, then I'm fucked. I'll end up assimilated into the soccer Borg -- the motherhood equivalent of Scientology. Next it'll be soccer in the spring/hockey in winter/ football in the fall (when do they play football??) and all those sports, that involve more than a ball and a net. There goes my life as I will be guilted into every single game. After one game I am sad to report that we are leaning towards Borgland. Nooooooooo!!
I must admit, that in this neighbourhood, most parents are relatively cool. We all walk to the field, and well, it's ok that we aren't the minivan set. A few who take it a bit to seriously who are a bit overdressed for the casual league. But whatever. Perhaps I'd got a bit wrapped up in the label. I should know better. I hate labels.
Like the term Mommy Blogger. I really freaking hate it. This post makes me a mommy blogger. Sure part of Nat's Brain is a parenting blog. The Boy is a major part of my life. But, I think, calling me or anyone else a Mommy Blogger pigeons holes us for no good reason -- sometimes I talk about parenting but mostly I talk about the world and the way I see it. I am very proud of being a mom. Very proud of how the little guy is turning out (in spite of his poor choice of parents.) I am a mom but I am also a writer, a friend, a runner, music lover, a worker bee... and so much more... like how does that get captured in that label of "mommy". "Mommy is why I am in therapy... " "Mommy dearest..." Aaaaaaack.
I think there are blogs you can easily label. For instance See Nat Run, is a running blog. All running and fitness all the time. Call that a running blog I have no issue with. If all I wrote was about books, or music reviews or Wii games. Those are easy obvious labels. But this here is not a mommy blog. It's a blog that happens to be written by a mom. But it's a lot of different things too. And to label it, like most things sells us all short.

Gambling Addiction
Though you may not understand what a gambling addiction might be, but it is a problem for a lot of people. Though it is not as physically dangerous as a drinking or drug addiction, it can wreck and destroy lives and families rather quickly. It always starts out innocently, but in the end many will find that they just cant stop, and this continues even when the threat of legal action or jail time is mentioned as a possibility. This is one reason why I have never really gambled, but I have had a touch of this type of addiction.
I worked in a convenience store long ago, and when I got bored I would buy a few lottery tickets. When I would win, I would spend all of that money on more tickets. I would only win twenty dollars or so, but I should have kept it. I just kept buying more.

When a compulsive gambler is in recovery, feeling guilty is one of the toughest areas to resolve for some people. When a gambler finally makes the conscious decision to stop gambling, reality sets in for the first time in a long time. When they take finally take stock in themselves they see all the damage they caused. Some people stop right before its too late and they have a few assets left. !!!SPOILER AHEAD!!!
Last night after a disappointing Life paper I went to catch the movie called 21. It's about a boy, who is from a middle class family, pursuing his dream to go into Harvard Med School but he couldn't afford the $300,000 that he was slapped with. Thinking he will be fine for the scholarship interview, he was rejected initially for a big hole in him in terms of experience that he could tell and dazzle the Scholarship Head of Committee.
He was sucked into the Vegas life almost immediately after impressing a lecturer who orchastrated a group of students playing Black Jack in the casinos. He was so good with numbers (obviously I don't) he raked in $315,000 in only a few months... only to be ripped away from him after the lecturer betrayed him.
His counting prowess almost got him into a coma by the casino's head of surveillance and instead of being given the final blow that could easily explode his face, the guy asked him to go undercover and get him the ring-leader a.k.a Mickey the lecturer, who went missing for almost a decade without being punished with Anwar-like blow to the face.
N.B. For some reason counting cards is illegal in that casino though I think it's a gift.
The surveillance head named Cole Williams promised the boy he would be let free along with the money if Mickey got caught this time so that Cole could receive his long dued pensions in no time.
The boy succeeded on giving Mickey an experience he would never forget but he was not allowed to keep the money he won all night long that night.
Feeling dejected, he left the scene empty handed although scoring with the girl was somewhat I discourage because the girl left him alone in the casino before severe blows handsomely struck his face like a punching bag earlier.
"So what's the moral of the story?" I asked a friend.
"Gambling is harram." I answered the Q myself.
If you ask me, will I ever gamble in my life? The answer is No.
"That will go against my religion then. I'm a muslim and will forever be."
Although it was very intriguing to place some bets on Chelsea vs Man Utd last weekend where 10pounds of bet should have earned me 100pounds for the score 2-1 and playing fantasy premier league has been part of me, I still don't think it's necessary to gamble i.e. berjudi.
It seems nice to go to Vegas, and see some chics dancing with the poles, driving Gallardos, making money through Roullettes and Poker, but the probability of winning a stake is somewhat low. Risk adverse investor you can call me but without an appropriate information and model, I will not put in the money just like that.
I am a big fan of Poker. I play with my friends and on facebook without making any real money. $307100 in the 'bank' is only a meager compared to the leader board of $22mil in facebook. I win some, I lose some although the King of Comebacks tag will be taken quite humbly. But what I learn from poker is that you will not win everytime. The World Series of Poker Champions title have been changing quite volatily but between themselves I guess it's because they have the same textbook skills that they rely on.
So what about equities? Stocks? Are they harram too?
Well, the difference between gambling and stocks is the duration. There is a short duration for stocks but as for poker, if you lose, you lose. And even if it is 2 hours of playing, that is very short compared to stocks. Duration is important to see about the volatility of an asset. It may go down but it may go up again.
When you buy shares, you will be a part owner of the company and thus you don't lose anything. You will lose on the capital if the price drops. But it will also come up as long as the economy is in a stable condition.
But if you 'ante' a bet in the pot, you own nothing yet until your cards win you. If your money is determined by the cards, isn't that not a high stake to put your bets on?
Well there are skills in poker as you know but losing a lot of money could even cost you a fortune.
Or even your wife!
Imagine the fate of your wife will be decided on the river!!!
What about insder trading? Is it harram? Well any business dealings that is not fair is harram. Because other bidders don't get the same information as you do. If you don't believe in Islam, insider trading is still uneathical. It is simply because of the information that you obtained to buy shares. Don't tell me you are lucky to be in the investment department to buy shares but accountants and economists take insider trading as a serious offence.
It's OK if you are buying a new bungalow or a Dodge Viper I will be happy for you as I may/may not get the chace of a test drive but please do not brag on your unethical ka-ching making. It's not fair and you know it.
And thus insider trading is harram.
"It's ok. I won't go buy food or drinks so that it won't be part of me (menjadi darah daging)"
"I will buy some women as well because I don't cause people any harm. The Sufiah (not her real name) gets the money, I get the sex! She is still human know. She needs money eat you know. And it's not something that go into my body in fact I let something out!"
"I can go pay the bills or taxes with the harram money. They are taxing us like crazy how can I not use the betting money to hedge my outflows?"
These are some justifications that some so-called Muslims have been using to divert the conversation. Hello, you may not be buying pork or liquor but you know that is a bit cowardly way of making money.
I couldn't help more but to ask them to think or simply keeping myself quiet and pray that they will realise someday. Or just blog as a reminder to myself as well.
"So primarily, why Azrul, you are good at bets, but you don't play any?"
"Well, because I am a Muslim. I believe God knows everything and I don't want to be seen as a Muslim who does the opposite. Non-practice Muslim if you like. There are still a lot of room for improvement in me but it is simply my way of protecting my religion. To be a man with dignity and belief. Simple as that..."
"For 25 years I have been a Muslim of course 200pounds of betting win via Ladbroke will not change that. Not even a 200million of bribery... And that comes out from a person who is stingy and money loving as well!"
My prediction for the EPL: Man Utd to win although I was hoping any London Club to win this time.

Golf Bags for Beginner Golfers
By Lee MacRae
You might be a golf beginner looking for your first set of golf clubs and equipment or a pro shopping for upgrades, but all will agree that golf bags are essential in the game. Next to golf clubs, a golf bag is one of the most important golfing equipment there is.
It is considered a necessity. A good golf bag will lessen your worries on the golf course, (i.e. all your clubs are in their proper place) and you can focus on your teeing.
If you're a beginner golfer, then golf bags are definitely a must. However, there are things that you should know before going to the nearest golf store and buying a golf bag on impulse. First, there are two types of golf bags? carry bags and cart bags.
Carry bags are golf bags that are used when you are planning to have a lot of walking on the golf course. Cart golf bags are those that you use when walking is not possible (as some golf courses prohibit walking), and riding a golf cart is your option. A beginner golfer will most definitely buy a walking bag at first, although if you are a serious beginner of the game, then you will eventually buy both types of golf bags.
If you are a newbie in the game, you might ask "What is a golf bag for? I only have four golf clubs." A golf bag is a functional equipment rather than a fashion statement. It is not just for your golf clubs, but it can also hold your other golf equipment and accessories. Some advanced golf bags even have pocket coolers that can keep your drink ice-cold even for hours! You might want to consider that, especially when you will buy a carry golf bag.
When buying a golf bag, especially a carry golf bag, find a comfortable one. One should check the straps to see if it fits comfortably and whether it can be carried easily. Remember that your golf bag will be one of your trusted companions on the greens, and that you will spend hours with it. So choose wisely. Don't buy low quality bags, because you will end up purchasing another bag in the next few months if your old golf bag tears up. You should also buy your golf bag depending on the number of golf clubs that you have. Most golf bags can carry up to 15 golf clubs. A tournament however limits the number of golf clubs in your golf bag.
Another important thing to consider when purchasing a golf bag is its weight. This is one of the most important things to know. Golf bags should be light enough to be carried or carted easily, but sturdy enough to hold your clubs and protect them. Some golf bags are even water resistant, and are rain proofed for the protection of your clubs. Most of these golf bags have 8 or 9 dividers or pockets. Again, the number of dividers that you will need depend on the amount of clubs and accessories you will carry. If you have many golf clubs then choose a golf bag with many dividers. However, these types of golf bags have the tendency to be heavier. Some bags can weigh less than 5 pounds! These types of bags are made up of space-age materials such as graphite, however, they more expensive.
Remember that when buying golf bags, the lighter it is, the better and more comfortable it will be.

Many people have tried Gamblers Anonymous but stopped after a short period (usually two weeks) because it was awkward and uncomfortable. These people who gambled had a private addiction and were unwilling to let the world know they had a serious problem. In some situations people would run into friends and, or former co-workers at the Gamblers Anonymous weekly meetings. All of a sudden their world came crumbling down and they did not know where to hide. At first they couldnt understand why people didnt stay there for help. They now understand that their addiction is a private one.

Most of the time people get entrapped in addictions for the purpose of getting relief, in order to take a leap from reality where things do not happen according to one's liking. Addictions for a time being sooth the wounds of a person but cause damage in the longer run. There are some people who try out addictions just for the purpose of thrill and fun. What they don't realize is that they will slowly become a slave of their addictions which will take the shape of a need of their system. The bottom line is that anything that becomes an addiction turns out to be kind of injurious, so nothing really needs to be said about the conventional addictions. They are literally lethal. Contrary to what people believe, addictions are also very fertile causes of depression and other kind of complexities in life. Though it sounds very clichd addictions are actually no way out of the trials and tribulations of life. At best they are just temporary deviators that take a person away from reality only for the worse. Whenever we talk of addiction the three things that come to our mind are smoking, alcohol and drugs. Apart from these three there are several other anti social elements or for that matter crimes, that become addictions and then a need for a certain section of the society. However, it will be wrong to assume that the people who are prey to these addictions are in a happy state of mind or at mental peace. They also have to face quiet a deal of mental dilemma. Sadly enough they fail to realize that much of their mental uncomfort is due to the addictions only!
A very prevalent addiction that has been there in every society right from the ancient times is the addiction of gambling. Gambling has found existence amidst the human society in different formats and in every section of the society. In the epics also we find mention of gambling. Today among the affluent class gambling is prevalent in forms like casinos. For the middle class and the poorer section also gambling finds an existence. There are numerous instances when people lose everything to gambling. Household violence is also common with people who are victims of this utterly disastrous addiction. Apart from these, addictions like gambling are also detrimental to a person's health. Especially his mental health. Gambling has been found to be a very prolific cause of the mental disorder depression. Depression has been found to be very common in the people who are addicts to gambling. Most probably because gambling is not all about gaining, it's also equally about losing. People lose fortunes due to gambling addiction. Delving deep into depression after such a state of affairs is only natural. Though one can seek the assistance of the antidepressants like xanax online still it won't be much fruitful if the cause persists. This antidepressant is meant to be had only on prescription. Even when you want to buy xanax online you are required to have the prescription.

Are you a black American? Are you friends (or at least on casual nodding terms) with a black American? Then spread the word: black folk must support the Boston Celtics, or just come out and admit that to the world that they own a Wayne Newton album.
Yes, yes, I know. The Celtics? The team whose mascot and traditional fan base are each tiny drunken Irishmen? The team from the whitest large city in America? The team of Larry freaking Bird?
Yes. And here's why.
1. The Celtics are the Blackest Team in the 2008 Playoffs
"Blackness" is a slippery concept, especially in the context of athletics. "Black" basketball has often been associated with a high-tempo, offense-first, individualist mentality, despite scads of counter-examples both now and throughout the history of the post-integration NBA (about which, more later). But we're avoiding all that and characterizing the Celtics as the blackest team in a much simpler way: counting the number of black Americans on the team.
Along with Philly, the Celtics are one of only two teams in this year's playoffs with a black head coach and an all-black rotation (Brian Scalabrine is the only white guy on C's who plays at all, and he's 11-deep on the chart and hasn't gotten into a game yet in the playoffs this year). Every other team has at least one non-black guy in the rotation (Walton, Kirilenko, Nash, Dirk, Scola, Peja, Manu, Zaza, Turkoglu, Songaila, Calderon, Big Z), or a non-black coach (Flip Saunders).
Hell, the Lakers, who for years served as the unofficial team of black America, are running out the son of the whitest man in America (Luke Walton, son of Bill), a Euro (Pau Gasol), and a guy who speaks fluent Italian and yet is neither Euro nor in the waste disposal business (Kobe). Kareem and Magic aren't walking through that door, people. Time to adjust to the new reality.
2. The Celtics Are the Blackest Team in NBA History
For anybody who came of age in the '80s, the above statement no doubt seems like gibberish. What about the frontcourt of Bird and Kevin McHale, and the backcourt of Danny Ainge and . . . I dunno, Jerry Sichting? Well, those guys were around, no doubt. But look back beyond those guys, to the teams that created the Celtic mystique in the first place, and what do you find.

WAYLAND -- A federal appeals court ruling Tuesday upheld a decision by the federal government to set aside 147 acres of land for a proposed Indian casino in southwest Michigan.
A groundbreaking on the casino near Wayland will be scheduled soon, said James Nye, spokesman for the Gun Lake tribe of the Pottawatomi Indians. A further legal appeal by opponents, however, is still likely.
The Gun Lake tribe has been working for more than a decade to develop a new casino in Allegan County. The site includes the former Ampro Products building, which tribal leaders plan to convert into the $200 million Gun Lake Casino.
"This is fantastic news for the people of the tribe and for West Michigan," tribe spokesman Nye said of Tuesday's court ruling.
"This is the end of a legal challenge that has lasted for years. Clearly the opponents have had their day in court, and now we look forward to construction of the casino, hiring thousands of local residents and sharing tens of millions of dollars with local and state governments," he said.
John Bursch, a partner with Warner Norcross Judd in Grand Rapids who is representing the group Michigan Gambling Opposition (MichGo), said the ruling was a disappointment.
"But we are extremely encouraged by the dissent of Judge (Janice Rogers) Brown," he said. "She excoriated the majority and agreed with us on the major issue in this case, the constitutionality of the statute that gives the federal government the authority to take this land in trust for a casino."
Bursch said the group plans to petition the United States Supreme Court to hear the issue. "And given that the Supreme Court majority's judicial philosophy aligns with that of Judge Brown," he said, "we are very confident they will take the case."
Todd Boorsma, long-time opponent of the project, called the decision a "huge victory for the opponents" because the dissent sets the stage for the appeal.
"It allows us to go to the next level," said Boorsma, the opposition group's long-time leader who stepped down a few months ago to run for state representative for the 88th District. "This is what we had hoped for because we knew two of the panel members were not on our side."
Proponents have said the casino would employ about 1,800 people and have about 2,500 electronic gambling machines and 80 gaming tables.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Tuesday affirmed the decision by the Interior Department to take the land in Wayland Township into trust for a casino. MichGO sued in 2005 to block the government from taking the land into trust. The case has been winding its way through the court system since then.
Early in 2007, a U.S. District Court judge in Washington sided with the government. However, he issued a stay preventing the land from being taken into trust pending the outcome of MichGO's appeal.
MichGO is a group of local residents and business people who formed at least six years ago to oppose the casino.

Gambling is a popular pastime of many American citizens. Despite the popularity of gambling, it is illegal in many areas of the Untied States. Currently, casinos are only allowed on Indian reservations, in Las Vegas, and in Atlantic City. What does this mean for those that love to gamble? It often means long trips and large amounts of money spent. That is unless you want to incorporate gambling into your vacation.
Aside from the casinos offered on land, cruise ship casinos are some of the most popular casinos in the Untied States. If you are interested in gambling on a cruise ship, you can also enjoy a vacation at the same time. That is if you intend on booking an extended cruise. Extended cruises are cruises that tend to last more than three days. In addition to extended cruises, it is possible to visit stationary casino cruise ships along the coast.
When it comes to cruise ship gambling, there are many passengers who are concerned with the legal aspect of gambling. It is true that gambling is illegal in most of the United States, but different rules apply when you are on international waters. As soon as your cruise ship leaves the port, the casino is likely to open. To stay on the safe side, a number of cruise ships wait until they are a few miles away from the coast.
Gambling aboard a cruise ship casino is similar to gambling on land. Traditional casino rules should apply. If a cruise shipís gambling rules differ, you will likely see signs or rules posted somewhere within the casino. If you are ever in doubt it is advised that you speak to a casino employee or a cruise ship representative.
In addition to seeking guidance or clarification from cruise ship employees, it is also likely that they may teach you how to play a particular game. Similar to dance lessons, you could easily learn how to play a number of popular casino games with the assistance of an experienced gambler. Many of these onboard casino game lessons are free; however, not all are. On some cruise ships, you may be required to pay a small fee to participate in a gambling lesson.
The casino games offered aboard a cruise ship are likely to vary. Many popular games include blackjack, roulette, poker, and slot machines. The casinos games found onboard a cruise will all depend on the cruise ship in question. Certain casino games may be available on one ship, but not on another. If you are interested in playing a particular casino game, you may want to check to see if that game is available before booking your cruise ship reservation.
As previously mentioned, cruise ship casinos are most often found on extended cruises. These are classified as cruises that stay over the water for a period of time. These cruises also travel from one destination to another. Extended cruise ships often have a large number of activities, aside from gambling. Cruise ship reservations and cabin rentals are often compared to the hotel rooms found at most casino resorts. When compared, an extend cruise is often the better value.
Despite their popularity, not everyone is able to take an extended cruise. If you still want to experience gambling aboard a cruise ship, but you donít want to stay overnight, you can visit a coastal casino or a river casino. Along the Untied States coast and a number of popular river banks, casinos are legal. These casinos were often legalized by local governments. Stationary cruise casinos are similar to legalized land casinos. The only difference between the two is that they are located on the water.
To gamble aboard a casino, whether it is a vacation cruise, a river casino, or a costal casino, you will have to make plans. River casinos and costal casinos do not require reservations, but vacation cruises do. If you are interested in spending your vacation at a cruise shipís casino, you must first make a reservation. Once you have made those reservations, you can make plans to enjoy gambling on your vacation until you wish to gamble no longer.

Josh Turner loves playing basketball on the road with his band and crew – but not as much as he used to. We try to play as much as we can, he says, but here lately, everybodys been getting hurt, so its slowing us down.
Turner sprained his ankle in early April, but hes ready for another try, now that hes able to walk without lingering pain. I was on defense and my lead guitar player had the ball, he says. I was guarding him, and I went to try to steal the ball, and when I did, he went to drive past me. I tried to change direction really quick, and my ankle gave way. I just flipped over and laid there on the floor for a little while. But luckily I walked it off and played three or four more games.
Turner will spend May on the road with Carrie Underwood before hitting the summer fair and festival circuit on his own. With so much time away from home, some country stars kill an afternoon on the golf course, while others carry their bicycles on the back of the bus. So, why basketball? s exercise, and you dont look at it as exercise, he says. You look at it as a game, and its a lot more fun. You accomplish just as much, if not more, by playing basketball than you do by exercising.
But you wont find his wife on the court. She tries to find the gym or the workout room, Turner says. She doesnt want to get hurt by us.

Here is something you could try to address "restless leg syndrome" - get caffeine, sugar, and excessive salt out of your diet and go on an intestinal cleanse program.
It may not cure your restless legs, but it will improve your overall health, and it won't make you a compulsive gambler or a sex fiend.

After a year of being "benched" by a lower back injury. (And by injury I mean, a deteriorating disc resulting in misuse and abuse from sports as a tall female growing up). I am determined to reunite with my passion and one true love....volleyball. I have spent the past 8 months in rehabilitation clinics, chiropractors, pain management specialists and personal trainers to relieve the tension off of my lower back and to strengthen my core.
I now can participate in volleyball a few nights a week without being in terrible pain. Although I still get the feeling of pressure in my hip, I now have the ability to stretch it out and make it feel a tad better.
The weather yesterday was shocking. The weekend boasted a beautiful 80 degree Friday, and a cooler, but still gorgeous, 65 degree Saturday. Sunday was gorgeous but had a bit of a cool wind. I leave for work on Monday wearing a sweater and my winter coat. 49 degrees... you have GOT to be kidding me!
I remind myself again and again that it's Cleveland. I ask myself again and again why I'm still here. I then again answer myself (no, I'm not schizophrenic) that I love this city, I love my family, and I love my friends. It suffices as an answer every time.
The cold rain drizzles down throughout the day. This is my life. This is how my life works out. I should've just been named Murphy. Tonight is my first day of summer volleyball. Outside. Like, in the sand.
I have played through rain during a warm spring day. I've played through strong winds and pouring rain in the middle of August. I've played in cooler (like 65 degrees) weather in May. But never have I ever played in 45 degree freezing rain. I hope that it will be cancelled.
I get an email posting the fact that some teams have opted out of playing and we might be eligible for an earlier game. Our game was originally scheduled for 9:30 pm. Not exactly sunny at that time of night. Unfortunately, I have taken the opprotunity to schedule some houses to view to keep Bacon and I on top of our house-hunting game. I won't be able to make any earlier games than 9:30 and even then, I'm cutting it close.
9:15 rolls around and I'm pulling off the highway on my way to the game. My cell phone rings to let me know I have a new voice mail. I hope that the game is cancelled, although I would be slightly perterbed if that were the case and I bundled up and drove all that way just to go back home. Nope, game is still on and I'm meeting my team (I've never met them before) in the bar area.
The guys seem really nice and the girl seems like a lot of fun. This could be a great season. I'm nervous because I haven't played "beach" volleyball in over a year and I'm even more nervous because even my indoor playing level isn't what it used to be. I explain this and apologize in advance for any mistakes that I may make. I am hoping not to be voted off Volleyball Island (like they do in Survivor. No this doesn't really happen).
Sidenote: In the real world "Volleyball Island" is my term and it's what I mean when you do really really well and teams pick you up to play in various tournaments, leagues, and keep you on their team because you're good. I once, was highly sought after. Not to toot my own horn, but it's true. I actually encountered two guys verbally discussing whose team I would be on in a heated debate while at a bar. I did the right thing, and although could've played in a much higher level with more talented players, I maintained my loyalty to the guys who originally picked me up from a classified article I posted on a Cleveland volleyball website. Now, I have to prove myself again as I've forfeited my teams and when I was picked up again, I made mistake after mistake after mistake. I was limited to movement and overall timid. Do I really need to tell you that I've been struggling to find a team to play beach??? Women are in high demand for beach league, and, well, a woman who can hit and set and pass? Yeah, teams are all over that. My setting leaves much to be desired, but I'm naturally athletic, I can get the hang of it. Did I mention that I haven't been asked to play by anyone? I got lucky enough to find a team who was desperate enough to pick up a girl sight-unseen and whom they have never even met or know what position I usually play. They were a bit shocked when I turned out to be a 6ft girl.
Ok, back to the story:
I get there and step out of my car. I take off my tennis shoes and socks and put my tootsies in the sand.
OH MY GOD!! It was like walking on ice!!! The sand was freeeeeeeezzing cold. I stand for a moment and talk to my new teammates. We are all in layers of sweatshirts and sweatpants with layers of spandex underneath. The men were smart. They wore their sandsocks (special socks designed to keep your feet from the heat of the sand in the summer and from blistering in rougher sandy courts). I'm not that smart. I don't own this wonderful invention. I get the website from which to order these shoes/socks from my teammate and I vow to make the online purchase the very next day.
I decide I'm putting my socks back on and will just throw this pair away after the end of the game. I leave them on only to find out that they accumulated the sand near my toes causing the feeling of frostbite to occur.
The games continue. My passing and setting was just ok. My hitting.... I forget, I'm not indoors anymore. I can't jump in sand. Oh yeah, and let me mention also that the net is higher. I am set a ball and I approach and go to jump. My feet hardly leave the ground and I'm back on the court with my timing thrown off. Before I can adjust, my arm has already swung through pushing the ball right into the net. This doesn't happen just once.... but like ten times throughout the evening. Oh yeah, and I missed a few serves, got sand in my eye and still couldn't feel my toes. I feel better because we rotated positions every time and no one was extremely over the top with success.
Needless to say, we lost. Terribly. To our team's defense, we did play the #1 team in the league 3 years in a row. Their men were excellent at placement (hitting the ball where no one was) and were able to block our men (although they were gentelmen enough to allow me the opprotunity to hit without being blocked). Next week will be better. It has to be. Maybe it will be warmer. I can deal with rain as long as it's warm!
But for now, I just assume that this makes me a kickass, diehard, hardcore volleyball player. Ladies and Gentlemen... she's back and ready to rumble.

For those of you who dont know, my Large Public University has a tradition called Oozefest, where on the last Saturday of the spring semester a giant mud volleyball tournament is held on the far north end of campus in a special area officially named the oozefest pit. Also for those of you that dont know, my very dear friend T has cerebral palsy and is in a motorized wheelchair. These are the facts you need to know.
Now on with the story.
On the evening before oozefest, the local volunteer fire company comes to campus with their fire trucks, blocks off the road, and floods the oozefest pit in preparation for the next days activities. This involves several firefighters, two ladder trucks, and some very large hoses.
I was over at Ts apartment for the evening to hang out, and I suggest to her that we go watch the pit get flooded, which is something that you really dont get to see every day. So she and I walked the 20ft from her apt building to the firetrucks, where we were greeted by several very nice (and very cute!) firemen, who let us come right up close to the trucks and chatted with us. Somehow, Ts dream of playing in the mud (something you cant do a lot of as a kid in a wheelchair) came out, and before long the firemen have deposited her in her push-wheelchair and have hauled her out into the middle of the half-a-football-field-sized pit. Shes squealing and giggling and going oh my gosh this is the best thing that has ever happened to me!!!! and laughing and squealing and giggling some more. They sprayed her with the hose and took her shoes and socks off and helped her stand up in the mud and youdve thought she was a 4 year old at christmas and not a 28-year old PhD in a mud pit.
At any rate, when all is said and done we go to leave, and I am approached by who I later learn is the fire chief of the company flooding the pit. He offers me $20 on a dare to jump into the (now completely oozed) oozefest pit with all of my clothes on. In the dark.
I did it.

If you've been around the online casino gambling game for awhile you are probably aware that there are sites that let you play without registering. You simply need to go to the site and begin playing. This is great for a quick fix and the occasional pick up game but if this is your long term playing strategy you aren't thinking correctly. I know this is a rather blunt statement to make but it's true. If you are the type of player that plays occasionally then by all means just log on to whatever casino and games fits your whim and have at it. No problem. But if you are the type of player that plays regularly and logs in like once or twice a day and haven't already registered you are missing out on a lot that your chosen online casino has to offer.
For example, many of the premier online casinos now offer rakebacks for their loyal players. This is just one reason to register with the online casino but it's a good one. The amount of money that a player can get back with a rakeback can finance their game play indefinitely. Another reason that a player should register if they are serious about online gambling is for the information. Sure, it's no big deal to scour the net for sources of information and up to the minute knowledge about your favorite game. The problem is that much of the information on the net isn't casino specific. The only way that you are going to be able to get the type of information about the casino that you want is by registering for the newsletter that they offer. This is where it's at and the place to find out about the games that they offer and the upcoming promotions.
Promotions, that brings me to the next reason that a player should register with their favorite online casino. How is a player supposed to know about the upcoming promotions, much less get in on them, if they aren't registered with the site that is offering the promotion? It seems like lose-lose to me. If a casino is offering a really great promotion and only the registered players are privy to that information everyone else, no matter how loyal they may be, aren't getting even the smallest slice of what they could be getting.
It's true that there are many reasons to not register with a casino. A good reason to not register is if you aren't sure which casino to settle in on. I can understand that, if you are still shopping around there are good reasons to keep looking before settling down. But if you are serious it's time to admit it and get serious. That means playing the games as they should be played and registering with the best online casino that you can find.

Can you believe that we've made it through another year of our Bible Study? And that some of us have been at this for seven years? Think of what we've learned, and we've only made a small dent in the entire book of Holy Scripture!
It seems as though I've been working on these two lessons forever, because I've been doing it in bits and pieces as I've found the time at various tennis meets and down times when the weather won't let me work outside. I only hope it makes some sense to all of you. (For some reason, the fonts on this document are a little out of whack, and I can't fix it, so it might look a little funny when you print it.)
I was hoping to have a study guide prepared for our summer book, Jesus of Nazareth, at the same time I posted this guide, but I didn't make it. That will be my priority over the next few weeks. Please check back later for that document.
See you on May 8th.

So, not only am I an official soccer mom ...but am a coach!!! Soccer has NEVER been interesting to me-It may well be the only sport I really have no interest in playing or otherwise. Needless to say, Olivia's team needed a coach our first game is Sat. so the city was literally calling all the parents to find a coach. Again, I have no idea what the heck I am doing...but apparently they just run in a conglomeration up down the field after the ball anyway. Thank goodness Archi played for 12 years will be a huge help for me, but he has his 2 jobs school that he is gang busters on....so, won't be taking anything else on! Besides, I need to learn something new. I so far am only afraid of one parent her son is the "Pro" already. When I called them to introduce myself give them the schedule, she asked me who else was on the team so that she could know if he was on the team with anyone they had requested him not to be with???!!!! So, not sure what that means, but it may mean that she can coach next year?
I got the movie pass tickets for the kids I can't even sign them up for swim lessons til the 12th......So, this will be a fun summer! We have decided to start looking for a house in July, I went to put the girls on the waiting list at Noah Webster Charter school, but the list for the 1st grade class has 30 kids already on it. Olivia's age has 14 kids. Depending where we are i will most likely still homeschool. I would really like to stay around Lindon. We found a cute little house in Lindon, off a side street that is not busy, but it is a split entry home I am not too crazy about those, so....I'm sure when we get serious about looking in July, it will find us!
Anyway, pizza is here I am hungry, hungry hippo.

Within the Torrequebrada complex itself, the Pavillón Restaurant is situated next to the tropical gardens of the hotel, and offers delicious, varied, breakfast and lunch buffets plus an all day drinks service. The Café Royal overlooks the Sea, and offers guests the finest fresh fish and seafood available, plus a host of meat and vegetable dishes. Fine dining combined with elegant interiors and decoration, this proves to be a big hit with hotel guests. The Saphir Café is situated just off the main hall and offers a great selection of freshly made tapas and drinks throughout the day.
The Fortuna Nightclub is also situated within the hotel, and on our last visit, we enjoyed one of the most amazing displays of Flamenco we have ever seen in Spain. This passionate music and dance show is performed regularly and you can contact the hotel reception for more information or reservation.
And no stay at the Torrequebrada is complete without a visit to the famous casino, situated on the ground floor. Visitors from all over Andalucia flock here to have a bet or simply soak up the atmosphere. Three elegant halls are situated within the casino – the gaming hall, the slot machine hall and the private hall. Games played here include American and French roulette, black jack, stud poker and baccarat. Over 80 slot machines are situated in the hall next door, and the casino usually gets busy around midnight, and snacks and drinks are served late into the night from the adjoining bar. The casino opens from 9pm-5am. Slot machines can also be played between 4pm and 9pm.
The general area of Benalmadena-Costa is geared for tourism, and beach activities, Selwo Marina, the Sea Life Centre, and even the biggest Buddhist Stupa in Europe are all situated within 3km of the hotel entrance, and can be easily reached on foot, by bus or taxi. If you want to explore further, there is a beach front promenade from the Marina to Torremolinos, and also local trains which will take you to Malaga, Fuengirola and all resorts in between.
We usually eat at the Casino Restaurant and then either take in a show at the nightclub or play the tables for a few hours. Non-residents are welcome in the restaurants and the casino, and there is no better place on the coast for great food and late night entertainment.

DAY 1 -
Landed in New York at about 2.05pm (their time) yesterday afternoon, and then landed again a couple of seconds later – 3 marks out of 10 for the pilot! I'm here on my own for 5 days of selfish picture taking, and general gawping.
I thought I'd at least try to write bits of it down as it happens, so here goes. First impressions are not good – the people who man the booths in the airport, unless you ask them the exact question, and to the exact right person, feign no knowledge. I asked the Customs guy where you got onto the airport shuttle train. He "didn't know", in spite of the fact that he probably came to work on it! Ho Hum.
I'd dutifully packed fleece, scarf and gloves to combat the weather over here, and arrived into 80 degree temperatures. Well planned, Roger. New York was greeted then by a geriatric Impromptu striptease in the JFK Customs Hall.
I have a thing about Governments keeping personal data on me, but faced a rather stern Customs official who had the Full Monty of Fingerprinting and Iris Recognition cameras waiting for me. It did feel a bit like the opening scene in BladeRunner, with the slight, but rather crucial difference that I did't kill him half way through the process! Something told me that non-compliance, and civic protest about individual's rights was probably not going to bear a great deal of fruit, so I'm now on their database – at 62 I'm now a common criminal! But he did suggest that I "Have a Good One", so that's OK then.
I sat on the plane next to a Turkish Brain Surgeon who lived in New York, and he gave me the inside track, so to speak, about the subway, I used it to get into the centre of the city. Catching the J Train, (rather than Duke Ellington's A Train), we clanked our way into central New York, past a continuous stream of grafitti covered buildings. The train ran at high level on a raised track which was definitely "French Connection" car-chase territory. Still, it allowed my noseyness full reign, and I could look into 10 miles of suburban American backyards. Conclusion, the average New Yorker is not the tidiest animal in the world, by an extremely long way.
The skyline here is something else. Quite possibly the best known in the world, and watching it gradually appear, exploding into full view as you trundle slowly across the Williamstown Bridge before disappearing underground in Manhattan, is hugely exciting.
The total cost of the journey was a princely $7, and it gave you an hour looking at the people in the carriage who live here. Huge ethnicity, lots of languages, everyone (and I mean everyone) locked excitedly into a mobile phone – presumably each person telling someone out there that "They're on the train".
All except for one absolutely gorgeous, slim, elegantly but casually dressed black girl, who sat there in serene stillness for the whole journey. I felt a real scruff and she put us all to shame.
I had decided to stay in the Financial District, as I wanted to be able to get access to the Brooklyn Bridge waterfront by walking there, rather than having to take subways, buses or taxis. So we got to Wall Street, and the flaw in saving a few dollars on the subway came to light – you've got a 20 kilo bag and a camera bag which weighs a ton, and no escalators to help. Do it slowly. Oh, well!
Wall Street is much tighter than I'd imagined - very narrow street, massive buildings, taking a lot of the light, and lots of gentlemen without a neck, outside the buildings, all sporting those twirled up black headphone wires, and speaking into their cuffs. Every other car seemed to be a hulking Black, dark windowed 4x4. A bit sinister - I did feel a touch of "The Bourne Ultimatum" around me, as I wandered along in a bright pink polo shirt. But then a well hit golf ball played from where I was standing would have landed in Ground Zero, so perhaps you can understand it.
The hotel entrance was covered in scaffolding, and didn't look that inviting to tell the truth. But the room was well fitted out – plasma screen, microwave, un-turnoffable Air Conditioning system. It was also extremely clean, and the staff did not seem to be able to do enough for you. So, full marks here.
Having unpacked, I shot back out to walk to the River, to take a few pictures in the warm sunshine. Wandering around Pier 17 (London's equivalent is Covent Garden), there were acrobats, trapeze artists, and a Marching Band, with a terribly earnest and unsmiling Leader who blew his whistle rather than speaking (a bit like one of the Clangers), to start the Blue and Red uniformed 15 year olds off. Actually, it was a Standing Still Band, with a few very large American Teenagers blowing their own trumpets, but no matter. Good fun.
I suddenly realised that I was hungry, it being the equivalent of 10 o'clock at night RST (Roger's Stomach Time). Charlene, from the hotel, (always make friends with the Hotel receptionist!) had recommended a local Italian Place, where I duly turned up at the equivalent of 5pm, for an evening meal. It was very good but Heavens above - their portions are absurd. I was really famished, but only got halfway through the towering mound of Prawn Linguini, before giving in. The Italian waiter, who actually turned out to be Albanian when I asked him which part of Italy he came from, thought I didn't like the food because I'd left some. I think, in future, a Kiddy portion is the order of the day.
I wanted to walk over Brooklyn Bridge, and photograph the skyline as the sun went down. So off we went, camera bag and tripod in hand.
The place was heaving. The bridge itself is a remarkable structure, especially considering it was put up in the 1880s. The wooden slatted walkway sits on-top of the roadway, and is divided into two, one section for the pedestrians, and the other for the lunatic cyclists who blast past you in a flash of intensely focussed pedalling mayhem, taking absolutely no prisoners, and most definitely asserting their rights to be there, if you got anywhere near them. I nearly speared one hapless Lance (Boom-Boom) Armstrong lookalike when I was fiddling with my tripod, which I'm sure wouldn't have been covered by my insurance.
It was a lovely evening, warm and clear, and the view off the bridge was breathtaking as the sky darkened, and the millions of lights from the buildings, the boats and the incessant stream of cars took over. The whole of the world seemed to have come onto the bridge with the same idea, but it was all very good natured, although I did have to throw a couple of Germans over the side to get a decent spot for a picture. Getting a good picture was more difficult that I'd imagined, because the traffic makes the bridge jolt around and vibrate continuously, just enough to stop your images being dead sharp. So, take a lot of pictures and hope – maybe we'll end up with a "soft focus" theme to it all. But it's a hell of a place to end Day 1 of my trip here.
Except that I got back to the hotel, parched and in dire need of a beer. I got talking to a San Francisco Human Resources Lawyer, who turned out to be very good value for money. We watched the New York Mets play on TV as he gave me a potted synopsis of Baseball over an hour or so. We put the world to rights – he thinks Bush is a total disaster, and has let the American people down badly. The guy (not Bush!) is a Democrat, but will probably vote for the Republican McCain, because he thinks he's the best man (or anyway, the least worst) to sort out the Iraq mess, which has clearly struck at the heart of the thinking American. I'm not sure we think like that in the UK. Anyway, I now know a lot about Baseball, Curved Balls, Sliders, Pitching techniques etc. He, in turn had both barrels from me on how Cricket works, so I'm not sure who lost out most in the deal.
But they're all keen to talk, and, I suppose expectedly for a hotel in the Financial District, all have a well formed and different view on life and an opinion which they voice to support their case.
Got to bed at 5am UK time (Midnight over here) quite tired, having been up for just over 24 hours. But a really exciting place to be, even if the weather is going to get worse rather than better.

Did you know that online gambling business is currently one of the fastest growing business categories in the world? The popularity of online gaming is increasing rapidly and this year has seen significant growth in Europe and Asia. In China and Malaysia, there are twice as many online gamers as there are Internet shoppers. Around 43% of Chinese Internet users play games online, while just 16% report that they shop online.
Revenues in online gaming business rose from only $800 million to over $2 billion in 1999! By year 2010, it is estimated that online gambling industry will top over $16 billion in revenues! London-based Merrill Lynch analyst Andrew Burnett says online gambling could generate more than $150 billion in revenues by 2015.
Until recently small entrepreneurs had no chance of getting into the gambling industry, because of huge capital investments, gaming license acquisitions and legal red tape. The internet eliminated all the obstacles. You can now own and promote your own online casino, sportsbook and multiplayer poker room gaming business and generate revenues you've only dreamt about.
There are 3 ways to start an online gaming business:
1) Most Expensive - Design and implement all gambling software for an online casino, sportsbook and multiplayer poker room which could cost you millions of US Dollars. You will also need to obtain a gaming license to run your online gaming business, which requires approval from most governments. However, you will have full control of your gambling site, and full knowledge of the source code of your gambling software. In addition, no royalties are paid out to a gambling software development company.
2) Average - Become a Licensee of an Online Gambling Software Provider. This is a far less expensive option to start an online gambling business and you will receive all the gambling software and sometimes even the equipment necessary. It is also the most popular option for both licensed land-based establishments as well as entrepreneurs. Costs range from $30,000 to $350,000. The average licensing fees are around $150,000 (this usually includes marketing costs). In most cases a royalty is paid to the gambling software provider as a percentage of the monthly "take" or "drop" (gross profit). Usually the gambling software provider has payment processing (merchant account providers) already set up for a fully turnkey operation.
3) Most Affordable - Become a Sublicensee of an existing Licensee. This is the least expensive option to start an online gambling business. Costs range from $5,000 to $60,000. The sublicensee is responsible for all the marketing and receives a smaller percentage than a full licensee (2), because royalties paid to the licensee are much higher.
To legally operate online gambling businesses, online casino and poker room owners turn to sovereign governments in countries that permit online gambling and duly issue licenses for gambling operations. The casinos and poker rooms are registered as offshore gambling operations and in turn, the respective countries gain significant licensing fees and tax-generated revenues.
As Internet use spreads across the globe, online gambling business will continue to be one of most profitable online business opportunities of the 21st century.

No matter which online casino you choose to play, they always offer a wide selection of Slot Machines. Thats because these games are easy to play at, are preferred by the most of the gamblers and its enjoyable in the same time. We all know that you can decide whether you want to play for free or
for real money. Today there are few online casinos where you can win money while playing for free. Some casinos establish specific prize or offer several tournament and give you the chance to take a free spin. One of the great advantages of playing slots in the online casino is that you can win
some money, or even hit the Jackpot by betting with only $1. None other casino game can offer such an opportunity.
Its obvious that the more you play on a specific Slot, the more your winning increases and the jackpot at the same time. There are no specific rules when you are playing at rell slots. Each player makes his/her own rules. One important thing you should keep in mind is that you cannot count
on your past experiences for the particular pulls/spins applied. So you should try every machine and while playing you can spot how the machine works and you can repeat your own pull-rule. When you are introducing your coins into machine you can see that the number of coins in and the number of coins out are displayed in particular window. So you can approxiamtely determine whenether you will win or not. If you divide the number of coins out by the number of coins in, then multiply this result by 100 and it varies around 96 or higher than this, it is almost clear that you will loose.
It is clear that the machines with the biggest payout are the $5 machines, then the $1, 50-cent, 25-cent, and 5-cent machines. The progressive slots provide the biggest jackpots available, but remember that only in case your longing is to hit it, is advisable to play at these. Thats because you must bet with the maximum amount of coins while playing progressive slots.
And last, but not the least - remember that online slots have no specific rules, so the most appropriate techniques must be found by the player himself. Good luck.
